With the Mackenzie River almost frozen over, it’s time for the annual PSA about safe ice thicknesses for various activities:

The sun now rises around 10:15 am, and sets around 4:00 pm. So it’s dark both to and from work. I’m sleeping a lot and eating more than usual (fattening up for winter), both of which are common responses to the encroaching darkness.
