It’s local election season, and despite a lack of candidates for town council, the local pet council election race is heated. This is a fundraiser for the local vet clinics, where people donate money to nominate their pet for pet mayor or council, and then make fantastic campaign posters and election promises. On October 15, we will vote in our first pet mayor and council. Stay tuned…

Speaking of clubs, I’ve been running an Inuvik chapter of the Hash House Harriers (the international “drinking club with a running problem“) for the past year and a half. We run approximately monthly during the not-completely-freezing-cold months, and have developed a small but dedicated following of hashers. We’re probably the most northerly kennel in the world.

The town had a “Community Registration Night”, so of course I had several tables there. Here’s the local news article about it.
