Coast Guard Auxiliary

I apparently don’t have enough clubs and activities going on in my life, so I also joined the local Coast Guard Auxiliary. This is a volunteer marine search and rescue group (I’m also already part of the aerial search and rescue group). We did some on-water training this summer, which I managed to fit in between my many out-of-town trips.

Banks Island

I spent a few weeks up on Banks Island helping out with a caribou & muskox survey. We saw a bunch of those, plus plenty of snow geese, arctic hares, quite a few wolves, and a grizzly bear. I started an iNaturalist account.

We flew around in one of these…
