- create art from driftwood, grasses and/or beach rocks

- enjoy CBC – with local news about the north and Dene language broadcasts

- go to boot camp, and think of excuses not to go to boot camp

- join the sewing circle and benefit from the Elders’ advice

- throw a line in the Great Bear River close to where it meets the Mackenzie

- struggle with filleting Maciek’s freshly caught northern pike and relish the taste

- enjoy stimulating conversations

- wave at every car and quad that passes you

- help harvest potatoes

- hitch a ride with friends on a quad

- pick bog cranberries and learn what walking in a bog is actually like

- nap

- try to figure out how to spell the soft lovely sound a raven makes when it flies closely over your head (and double it when there are two…..)

- enjoy views of the mighty Mackenzie

- learn how to make and knead pizza and bagel dough and how to cook them from scratch

- learn how to shoot a gun

- Gasp at the prices at the Northern grocery store and BJ Services

- visit Faye’s office, see photos of Naats’ihch’oh park, and see all the critters who get caught on the wildlife camera

- take a tour of the town to the end of the road

- watch movies or a great series like Handmaid’s Tale

- marvel at the muckiness of mud

- throw a stick for Ali (Faye’s boss’ dog), and throw it again and again and again…..

- get a violin lesson from Faye and Maciek – on a blue violin

- harvest veggies from the garden

- marvel at the magic of the aurora borealis!

- watch the miracle of beer birth, burping included, and tasting too!

- cook something with star anise

- find a moose jaw – and bring it home to someone you love

- enjoy a place where love lives

- admire Tulita’s fashion scene

- enjoy Faye and Maciek’s friends
