Bingo is a big deal in town, and happens about once or twice a week. Usually it’s “radio bingo”, where people buy their bingo sheets in advance and then the numbers are announced over the radio as they are drawn, so you can bingo from the comfort of your own home. Last week, however, there was live merchandise bingo, meaning that the numbers were being called live at the arena, and players could win prizes instead of money. You don’t get to pick your prizes though – you get whatever you happen to win. Don’t want a tea pot? Well that’s too bad, you’ve got one now.

We took the visiting parents to bingo so that they could try it out – they are retired, after all. The friendly ladies sitting next to us loaned them a bingo dabber and coached them through the process.
