Walk to Tuk 2018

We just wrapped up this year’s Walk to Tuk event. The Meandering Moose had a good showing this year, making it all the way to Tuk and then all the way back to Fort Providence again. Here’s the “route”:

You can see from all the teams that Walk to Tuk is very popular in the NWT

Last year we made it back to Whatì, which is kind of impressive given how low our chances were of ending our “walk” in an actual town.

I bravely captained the team again this year, even though I was away in warmer climates for most of the event. Here are some nice progress graphs to make up for that:

Faye’s 31st Birthday

Maciek stepped up his birthday cake game from last year and made me a marshmallow meringue, homemade vanilla ice cream, hazelnut-pecan chocolate cake. It actually worked out too!

Canadian Arctic Aviation Tour 2017

There was an air show in Tulita today. If you’re thinking that Tulita is an odd venue for an air show, you would be correct, but there’s a group that’s planning to do air shows in all of Canada’s Northern communities this summer. So some planes came through town, did some fancy Loop-the-Loops for a bit, then waved goodbye and flew off.
