Faye and Maciek's Adventures in the frosty Canadian North

After a month of darkness, the sun rose again on January 6. We were in town for this year’s Sunrise Festival, and I got to do a two-day workshop to make sealskin mitts, which are very warm!

The town hosts crafting workshops over the summer. My mom and I made adorable sealskin ookpiks!
Maciek finished his slippers during the fall session of sewing group. They were originally intended to be a moccasin (or slipper) style, but at the last minute got changed to be more of a mukluk (or wrap-around) style.
