I ramped up my Christmas crafting this past year with increased mitt ornament production, the introduction of my new line of mini-moccasin ornaments, and my first attempts at bear claw necklaces from our bear. I will probably have to scale it back down next year, because all this crafting is quite time consuming and I still need to finish my own full-sized moccasins.

When Maciek was sick, some friends sent me cross stitching supplies to keep me occupied. This was the intended pattern to follow:

I got started on it back then, but then it got put away in storage. This past week, I dug it out and finished it. It turns out that I’m not very good at following patterns…

Happy 150th birthday Canada!

Sewing group has been on hiatus since before Christmas. Sewing group in Tulita runs for intermittent periods of time when there’s an instructor available. So it will probably start up again eventually, but who knows when that will be. Plus, they ran out of moosehide, so I can’t continue with the next steps of my slippers anyways.

In the interim, I had some needles and beads on hand, so I caved to peer pressure and made matching pairs for my uppers. This second round of beading was much faster than the first – only three evenings while watching Netflix.

And now I sit and wait for some more moosehide to come in.
