Northwest Territories Tourism has been hiding camping chairs in territorial parks across the territories and then posting online that they’ve hidden them. Last weekend, they visited a park near us:
Finders Keepers! If you find our camping chairs (and other goodies) this weekend near the Tithegeh Chii Vitaii Lookout in the Gwich’in Territorial Park, they’re yours to keep!
Maciek and I jumped in the truck and headed out to Gwich’in Territorial Park (a half-hour drive from town). When we pulled into the lot, there was a camper trailer parked there so we figured the chairs were probably already gone. I eventually found the hiding spot and there was already a couple of other hikers there. I’ll let them tell you how the rest of it played out:

#SpectacularNWT Shared with this lovely girl, Faye. Thanks NWT! While hiking this spectacular trail, we came upon these camping chairs, wondering why someone would leave them there. We were enjoying the beautiful view from this lookout when Faye came running up, looking for them. She told us about this NWT tourism promotion and we decided to take one each. What an epic hike. Now we have some NWT swag to bring home with us.
Maciek and I completed the rest of the hike with our new camping chair in tow.
