Naïvely Northward-er

The blog has been on a bit of a hiatus recently, as we have been busy moving even further North! We now live in Inuvik, right up at the edge of the treeline near where the Mackenzie River enters the Arctic Ocean. 8 weeks of perpetual daylight in the summer, 4 weeks of constant darkness in the winter. It’s seven times larger than Tulita, and has (almost) year-round road access to the outside world via the Dempster Highway.

Northward-er!

River Breakup 2019

Due to the staggered breakup this year, not much ice was left on the shore.
