We did a bunch of home cooking this weekend. Here are some photos.

We got a cabbage and are trying our hand at lacto-fermentation: sauerkraut and kimchi. Results will be available in 1-2 weeks.

***Update: Kimchi and sauerkraut were a success!
We got together with friends for a Thanksgiving feast. We brought the aforementioned cranberry sauce, bread, candied yams, and scalloped potatoes.

Also, adorable mini-quiches.

I got to paddle the South Nahanni River. For work. Because that’s how my life goes these days. Here was our starting point:
Here’s Virginia Falls from the top:

The first part of the trip involves portaging 2km around Virginia Falls with all your gear, which is pretty brutal, but at least the views at the bottom are nice too.

And off we go down the river.

One of the scenic stops is “The Gate”.

Overlooking The Gate from above:

More scenic river.

Coffee break at the raft.

More paddlin’.
